Helen Middleton Ryan, 79, of Vienna passed away Monday, July 20, 2009, at Worthington Manor.

She was born in the Coldwater Community in Doddridge County, W.Va., a daughter of the late H. Brooks and Mildred Wade Middleton.

She retired after 20 years of service as a sales associate with Sears of Vienna; was a member of Wayside United Methodist Church, Vienna, where she attended Fellowship Sunday School Class, and was also a member of the Agape Circle at Wayside; a member of the Indian Fork Baptist Church at Coldwater Community, the Order of Eastern Star 51 Vienna Chapter and the Doddridge County CEO's.

Helen is survived by her husband, Kenneth R. Ryan Sr.; four sons, Kenneth R. Jr. of Clarksburg, W.Va., Edward H. (Barbara) of Las Vegas, Nev., Michael L. of Hempstead Beach, N.C., and Ronald S. (Tammy) of Twinsburg, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Laura Beth Lloyd (Lyle) of Urbana, Ohio, Jason Ryan of Atlanta, Ga., Tracie Rather (Randy) of Vienna, Erin Perez (Alex) of Las Vegas, Nev., Robert Ryan (Cheryl) of Roanoke, Va., Jamie Oakes (Ryan) of Annapolis, Md., Ashley Ryan of Woodbridge, Va., and Rebecca Ryan of Twinsburg, Ohio; and eight great-grandchildren, Joe Rather, Courtney Rather and Nichole Rather of Vienna, Anthony Perez, Cadence Perez of Las Vegas, Nev., and Spencer Malay, Alex Oakes and Conner Oakes of Annapolis, Md.

Helen was a loving wife and grandmother.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, with the Rev. Sandy Runnion, Dan Fisher and Randy Landis officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
