Mr. Donovan served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a prisoner of war. He retired as a teacher from Chartiers Valley School District and a member of the Bridgeville American Legion, Post #54. Mr. Donovan was instrumental in the building of the Korean War Memorial in Pittsburgh.

He was survived by his wife, a brother and a sister. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Ross, William and Raymond Donovan and two sisters; Elizabeth McGregor and Dolores Stemmler.
