Albert N. Talley, aged 57 years, an employe of the Southern Advance Bag and Paper company, at Hodge, dropped dead at his work shortly after 8 o'clock this morning. Death was pronounced due to heart disease after an investigation had been made by the coroner. The body was brought to Monroe and is now at a local undertaking establishment.

Talley had gone about his duties as usual this morning and had not informed fellow employes that he felt ill. Suddenly he uttered a groan and fell forward. Death had been instantaneous, it was stated. However, a physician summoned in the hope that life might not have become entirely extinct. All effort to revive the man proved futile, however.

Word was sent to Monroe to a son, A. N. Talley, who is associated with the Monroe Marble and Granite Works, and he quickly made the trip together with a local undertaker, to Hodge. Later in the day they returned to Monroe with the body.

Talley was a native of Slidell and had lived in Clarks and Olla for many years, being employed as operating millwright at lumber mills. Recently he had removed to Hodge to accept a position with the big new paper mill there.

He was a widower, Mrs. Talley having died in 1919.

He is survived by the following children: A. N. Talley jr., and Joe Talley of Monroe; Mrs. Clyde Bradford of Monroe; Mrs. C. E. Stringer of Clarks and Mrs. Ira Brooks of McCamey, Texas; also two young sons, Sam and Dean, who are living with their married sister at Clarks. A stepdaughter also survives. She is Mrs. R. S. Houldridge of Fresno, Calif.

The plans for the funeral were not completed this noon, but the services are to be held at the residence of a daughter of deceased, Mrs. Stringer of Clarks, with interment being made in the cemetery at Olla.

Mr. Talley was well known in Monroe and a short time ago was employed as a millwright at the Breece Lumber company's plant in the south end.
