Moses DePuy, aged 54 years, was stricken while pitching hay in Streeter's field on Wednesday, and without gaining consciousness, peacefully passed away. He had been a victim of asthma for several years, and George Bartlett, who was alone with him in the field when he fell, thought he was suffering from one of these attacks. Dr. Keller of Fulton, was called, and although he arrived in about 20 minutes, the stricken man was dead when he reached him. John Distin of Fulton, who was attending the W. F. M. S. meeting at the Streeter home, worked with the members of the family until the physician's arrival to resucsitate the unfortunate man, but all to no avail. Coroner Cusack decided that death was due to the excessive heat. The deceased was a lifelong resident of this locality, and was greatly respected. He is survived by his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Edna Gates of Fulton, three sons, Chauncey, and John and Glenn, two sisters, Mrs. George Hall and Mrs. Frank Guile of Volney, and two brothers, Daniel of Fulton, and Albert of Mt. Pleasant, who have the unstinted sympathy of residents here.
