Others living in this home in 1850 besides Cornelius Raley, age 55, a MD born farmer with real estate valued at $7500, was his wife Doritha (sic) Raley, age 60, born MD; Susan Raley, 21, b. KY; and Joseph Mattingly, 25, a KY born farmer.

They had at least one son John Thomas "Thomas" Mills, July 23,1855-Mar. 17, 1934, who married Lizzie Lee on Aug. 21, 1875 in Marion County, KY and one daughter Mary Josephine Mills, Aug. 10, 1857-xxxx.
Joseph Mills was murdered in a Bradfordsville, KY saloon between late 1856, when Mary Josephine was conceived, and Jan. 10, 1860 when his widow married George Washington Abell, Sr., 1836-1901. The family story says that he was struck by a bottle when the intended recipient ducked and that Joseph fell over--dead. Joseph has no tombstone in this cemetery. He was the grandfather of my uncle by marriage, Robert Abell Mills, 1899-1973.
