Specialist Four, U.S. Army

On 15 January 1968, Specialist Four Charles William Irby was serving with B Company, 3rd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, in Tay Ninh Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, SP4 Irby was killed in action when he sustained wounds from small arms fire. His body was recovered.
