Mr. Leon A. Bellot Sr., 86 of Cross City, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, after a long illness.
Born in Lafayette County (which became Dixie County in 1921), he was a lifetime resident of the area. He retired from the Florida Dept. of Transportation as an inspector. He was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Old Town and was amember of Dixie Hunting Club, California Swamp Hunting Club, Crane Bay Hunting Club and Bugum Bay Hunting Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Margaret Ann (William H.) Bellot Naylor of Monticello; one son, Leon Arthur (Cynthia) Bellot, Jr., of Cross City; one sister, Donna B. Carden of St. Augustine Beach; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kate (Cason) Bellot; brothers Albert Bellot, Gordon Bellot and Julius E. Bellot; and sisters Maggie Glisson, Ruby Croft, Anna Lou Sauls McArthur and Agricola Long.
