Ada Mae "Genis" Kirkland, 61, of Palatka died Sunday, March 7, 2004 at Governor's Creek Nursing Facilities in Green Cove Springs following an extended illness.
She was a native of Garfield, Ga., but resided in Palatka for over 20 years, coming from Miami. She was the widower of the late William "Bill" Kirkland Sr.
Survivors are daughters, Katherine (James) Pinkney, Lutz; and Sharon (Charles) Young, Swainsboro, Ga.; son, Willim Wallace Kirkland Jr. (Angel), Palatka; stepmother, Mary Lee Kirkland, Garfield, Ga.; stepdaughter, Elizabeth (Jameson) Moody, Daytona Beach; sisters, Susie Mae Pullens, Francis Ross and Harvey Lee Wadley, all of Swainsboro, Ga.; brother, Harvey (Margaret) Kirkland Jr., Statesboro, Ga.; seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 13, at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church, Palatka with Rev. Anthony Q. Robinson Sr., pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill West Cemetery in Palatka.
