FORMERLY OF BEAVER FALLS AND VANPORT - Paul R. Lash, 83, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away of cancer, Oct. 30, 2005, at Chandler Hall Hospice Center, Newton. He had been a former resident for many years of Beaver Falls and Vanport. Mr. Lash was born on August 26, 1922, and was a son of the late John Francis and Nellie Schrader Lash. He had proudly served in the Navy during World War II aboard the USS Thomas Jefferson, a troop transport ship, which saw action in both the Atlantic and Pacific campaigns. He retired from Jones and Laughlin Steel, in 1983, as supervisor in the Electrical Maintenance Department after more than 30 years of service, at which time he moved to Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Ella May Lynch Lash, who died in 1984, and siblings, John (Jack) W. Raymond, Joseph, Marjorie Kemp and Nellie Bonanni. Surviving are four children, Paul J., Arnold, Md.; Susan Schwarz, Perkasie; Patricia Smallwood, Damascus, Md., and Kathleen Walsh, Lakeville, Minn.; eight grandchildren and a sister, Kathryn Phillips.
