Cecil D. "Swede" Hazlett, 73 died March 30,
1993, of a stroke and complications, at St.
Francis Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.

Mr. Hazlett was born November 27, 1919, in
Lillis, Kansas. His parents were Edward and
Vera Hazlett. He graduated from Lillis High
School. He was a Army Veteran of World
War II, having served mostly in the South
Pacific. He was a member of the VFW Post
and the American Legion Post No. 181 at
Frankfort, Kansas.

He was a member of the Frankfort City
Council, and very active in the improvement
of the City Parks for the community youth.

Mr. Hazlett was the Chief of Police for
Frankfort, Kansas for over 18 years and also
retired volunteer fireman. He worked for
Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement
in 1981.

He married Lucille Foye King on January 1,
1946, at Seneca, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a
brother, Jack Hazlett; step-daughter Donna
McLaughlin; and infant son Mark.

Mr. Hazlett is survived by his wife of the
Home; one son, Cecil L. Hazlett, Wakefield
Kansas; three sisters Madelyn Perry and
Jacqueline Turnbull, both of Frankfort,
Kansas, and Imogene Hayes, Kansas City;
four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild

Mr. Hazlett will be cremated, with a Mem-
orial Service to be held at a later date at
the Frankfort Cemetery, Frankfort, Kansas.
