Mr. Ostler was a retired brickmason and was a member of Eagles and VFW lodges. He served in France during World War I.
He was born September 16, 1892, in Clinton County, to Charles M. and Etta Belle Stewart Ostler. He married Mary Jane Haslet on May 10, 1924, and she died December 25, 1939.
Survivors include two sons, Billy of Greencastle and Roy "Jack" of Frankfort; three daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Virginia) Gard of Frankfort, Mrs. L.D. (Freda) Wilcox of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Maxine Crain of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
A daughter and a grandson preceded him in death.
The Rev. Dan Owens will officiate services and burial will be in Whiteman Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday.
