Robert L. Schneider, 87, passed away Thursday, November, 1, 2012 at Kindred Transitional Care-Harrison in Corydon, IN. He was born in Corydon, IN on August 14, 1925 the son of Otto J. and Mattie Lotich Schneider. He was an administrator for Jefferson Area Vocational Tech School in Louisville, KY. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and was an Air Force veteran of WW II. He was a life long member of VFW Post # 2950 and the American Legion # 123 and was a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Herche Schneider, his parents and step-mother Ailene Ripperdan Schneider.
He is survived by
Two sons- Fred Schneider (Emily) of Corydon, IN
Lynn Schneider (Cathy) of Athens, OH
A Sister- Arlene S. Barrett of Kings Mountain, NC
Four Grandchildren- Nicole Galligan (William), Kiel Schneider (Greta), Bryan Schneider, Lauren Schneider and three great grandchildren- Weston and Landon Schneider and Harrison Galligan.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN. Pastor Robyn Kistemaker will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 12 PM to 8 PM and after 9 AM on Monday.
The family suggest memorial gifts be made to either St. Peter's Lutheran Church or to VFW Post # 2950.
