Nadine Elizabeth Thompson Womble, 73, of Waynesboro, VA, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Augusta Health, Fishersville, VA.

She was born August 8, 1939 in Verona, a daughter of the late Virgil Charles Thompson and Lily Brown Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl A. Womble, a brother, Hugh Edward Trainum, and a sister, Janet Frend.

Nadine was a longtime realtor in the area with Real Estate III. She loved to travel, including going to Virginia Beach and taking cruises. But her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her son, Karl Richard "Rick" Womble of Waynesboro; daughters: Laura W. Baker of Waynesboro, and Julia Margaret Womble of Fishersville; 6 grandchildren: Karla Baker Holley and husband Keith, K. Charles Baker, Gary Wichael, Keith Wichael, Rachael Womble, Michael Womble; 3 great-grandchildren: Ethan Holley, Kaylee Baker, Jocelyn Holley, and a special friend and cousin, Doris Sipe.

A service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, November 3, 2012 at McDow Funeral Home by Pastor James Potter. Interment will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Keith Holley, Charles Baker, Gary Wichael, Keith Wichael, Michael Womble, and Robert Griffith.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home, and other times at the residence of her daughter Laura Baker. As was her request, the casket will remain closed.
