Robert Warner Smith, 86, Clarksville, died Sunday, August 23, 2009, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Dr. Roger Freeman and Rev. Charlie Carmack officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 12 noon until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born May 12, 1923 in Montgomery County, Tennessee and was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Gold Smith Sr. and Pet Lawless Clardy Smith; brother, Charles Gold Smith Jr.; and sister, Marian Sivesind. Mr. Smith was a retired Inspector for Trane Company, a Navy Veteran of WWII, and a member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville and Masonic Lodge #89. He is survived by his wife Bonna Poole Baggett Smith, Clarksville; sons, Bobby (Mary Lou) Smith, Richard (Robyn) Smith, Clarksville; daughters, Barbara (Royce) Yarbrough, Springfield, Linda (Andy) Anderson, Montclair, VA, Jane (Pete) Stormer, Madison, AL; step-sons, AB (Mary) Baggett, Mark (Joanie) Baggett, Clarksville; step-daughter, Sherry (Allan) Hall, Clarksville; twenty one grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bryan Smith, Paul Smith, David Morgan, Peter Stormer, Beau Baggett and Kevin Hall. In leiu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 435 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37040 or Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church, c/o Carrol Poole, 1261 Poole Road, Clarksville, TN 37043.
