Francene became a successful residential realtor for 18 years after rearing her two children. She was the first woman realtor elected to the Wyandotte County Board of Realtors. As owner/broker, she introduced the first REMAX real estate office in the Kansas City, Kansas region. Francene retired to Bella Vista, Arkansas enjoying her lake home, golf and friends. In 2001, she moved to Lancaster to be near family and lived at Woodcrest Villa for 3 years.
She enjoyed taking many vacation trips to Europe during her active years. At home, she was a skilled seamstress and relaxed with knitting and needlepoint which she happily gave as gifts to her family.
Francene is survived by two children: daughter, Sherron Louise Thiry, wife of Junior K. Thiry, Lancaster and son, Daniel Francis Brown of Plano, Texas. She was the Nana of five grandchildren and five great granddaughters of whom she was very proud and loved dearly.
Her faith and church were always a comfort to her. Having grown up and married in the Baptist church, she has been a member of Highland Presbyterian Church while in Lancaster. Francene's remains will be interred in the memorial garden of Highland Presbyterian in a private family service.
