Melvin (Red) Cronin, 74, 1909 E. 13th St., died Wednesday at Ball Hospital.

Mr. Cronin was a native of Berne and had lived in Muncie since childhood. He was a barber for 54 years, starting when he was 16.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Opal; a daughter, Mrs. James (Carleen) Hann, Muncie; a step-daughter, Mrs. Paul (Joanne) Williams, Muncie; a stepson, Gene Rogers, Muncie; a sister, Mrs. Doris Osborne, McMinnville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Rohrdan Funeral Home, Wheeling Ave. Chapel, with Rev. Kenneth Maynard officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Eaton. Friends may call at the funeral home 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday and before services Friday.
