Alma Jean Reardon, of Walterboro, entered into her eternal rest on the morning of November 1, 2012, in Florence.

A native of Savannah, Georgia, she was born August 19, 1920, a daughter of the late Hugh Bernard Pinckney and the late Ruth Hicks Pinckney.

She was a retired nurse's aid from the Colleton Regional Hospital in Walterboro and was a member of Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church where she was active in the Women's Group.

Alma's children remember mom as an Angel on earth, who always tried to find the good in others. A devout Roman Catholic, she loved the Lord and her family, always reading her prayer book and reciting the Holy Rosary daily. She always remembered birthdays and sent a card with loving care. She loved her candy and was an independent woman until her end. She loved to talk with others and sit on her sun porch and work her puzzle book with Dorothy.

Surviving are: two sons, James Hugh Strickland and wife Teresa of Walterboro and John Strickland of Anderson; and four daughters, Nancy Berelc and husband Don of Hartwell, Georgia, Kathie Ard and husband Allen of Andrews, Mary Lyons of Saint George, and Gloria Todd and husband Ernie of Conway; fifteen grandchildren, Jason Strickland (Joanna), Edgar Strickland (Crystal), Dr. Erica Wallace (Jason), Michael Berelc (Rachel), Justin Berelc (Dr. Whitney), Stephen Writesel (Shana), Adam Cook, Stephanie Writesel, John Strickland, II, Wendell Lyons (Patricia), Heather Hicks, Melissa Raymond (Joey), Christina Hollis, Jimmy Morris (Jan), and Tony Morris (Stacy), as well as numerous great-grandchildren who also survive.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Alma Jean Reardon will be conducted 1 o'clock, November 3, 2012, from Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church, Walterboro. The Finial Commendation and Farewell will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Walterboro.
