EMARD CLARENCE "CLARE" HENRY EMARD, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away on December 18, 2005, at the age of 78.

Clarence was born in Rumsey, AB, the youngest son of Joe and Mildred Emard. He grew up and went to school in Burdett and Bow Island, and afterwards continued his education at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, where he received his Bachelor of Education and his Masters of Education degrees.

Clarence taught school at Coutts and then moved to Olds to continue his teaching and administration career. He was then appointed Assistant Superintendent of schools for the County of Mountain View. In 1967 his family moved to Pincher Creek where he had taken the job of Superintendent of Pincher Creek School District. After four years he was appointed Language Arts Consultant for North Western Alberta, centered at Grand Prairie. In 1973 Clarence was promoted to Red Deer as Director Field Services for Division 6.

In 1986 he retired and formed an Educational Consulting and Evaluation Company, doing work for Drumheller, Rocky Mountain House, the University of Calgary and Warner County.

Clarence has left to mourn his passing Ada, his wife of 53 years; three daughters; six grandchildren , and one great grand-daughter.

Clarence was predeceased by his parents Joe and Mildred, four brothers - Ludgar, Duane, Lawrence and Garth, and one sister, Helen Schlacter.

He is survived by two sisters - Doris Cossette of Fort Qu'Appelle and Joyce Snow of San Jose, California. Also he leaves behind three brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law- and numerous nieces and nephews.

Clarence had many interests and talents. He was a dedicated stamp collector and a trumpet, piano and crib player. Clare played and often coached basketball, badminton, and curling and he excelled at his last and well-loved sport of golf. Many an enjoyable golf game was had at Red Deer Golf and Country Club and Lethbridge Golf and Country Club where he clocked in countless games with his golf buddy Bert Mezei and his grandson XXXXX
