Inez White Nicholson


Funeral for Inez W. Nicholson, 86, of Decatur will be Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Todd Evans officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Nicholson, who died Sunday, October 28, 2012, at Parkway Medical Center, was born September 19, 1926, in Morgan County to Enoch and Lucy White. She was a homemaker and a member of Parkview Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 40 years and was a faithful church member. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde J. Nicholson; and three sisters, Lola Murphy, Faye Wright and Elouise Dutton.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Whitsell (Jerry) of Trinity and Myra Phillips (Felix) of Decatur; four grandchildren, Phillis Nelson (Stanley) of Somerville, Patrick Vaughn (Nicole) of Decatur, Lindsey Olinger (Luke) of Kingsland, Ga., and Dr. Nia L. Phillips of Charlottetown Prince Edward Island, Canada; five great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Vaughn of Huntsville, Shelby and Rekekah Vaughn of Decatur and Carter and Griffin Olinger of Kingsland, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund at Parkview Baptist Church.
