James B. Thompson

POINT PLEASANT - James B. Thompson, 56, Point Pleasant Route 2, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Holzer Medical Center. He had been in failing health for four years and in serious condition for three weeks.

Born in Illinois, the son of Mrs. Abigail Waterbury Thompson, Point Pleasant Route 2, and the late Charles Bart Thompson, he was a construction linesman and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers No. 317 of Huntington.

A graduate of Point Pleasant High School in 1933, he was a player on the varsity squad of the Big Black Football team and a member of the United Methodist Church.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Edith M. Eads Thompson; one step daughter, Mrs. Harold (Beverly) Ridenour, Point Pleasant; two step sons, James Eads Love and Oran Preston Love Jr., both of Columbus; three brothers, George of Point Pleasant Route 2, Rex, of Gallipolis Ferry, and Robert of Greensburg, Ind.; 10 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home with the Rev. O.H. Carder and the Rev. Earl Perkins officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Oak Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday
