Ellwood A. Grissom and his wife, Mary, owned and operated the Paragon Cafe in Mohall, N.D., from 1970 until retiring in Laurel in 1982.
He loved horses and was involved with church activities all his life.
Mr. Grissom, 84, died Tuesday at his home.
A son of Ellwood and Ida Louise Grissom, he was born in Bozeman.
He graduated from Wesleyan Montana College in Helena.
He married Adeline McKenzie in 1937 in Lewiston. Mr. Grissom, his wife and his parents homesteaded at Buffalo, Mont., about 1938. He later moved to Bitterroot Valley until 1950.
He married Mary Brunson Sept. 1, 1954 in Billings.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Rev. Ellwood Grissom of Rio Del, Calif., Rev. Albert Grissom of Hamilton and Fred Eggleston of Billings; four daughters, Pearl Weber of Billings, Roberta Mathis of Joliet, Wilma Page of Surrey, N.D., and Rebecca Atnip of Topeka, Kan.; 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of the Nazarene in Laurel with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Billings. Smith-Cashmore Memorial Chapel is in charge.
