Blood Transfusion Proves Un-
successful In Longview

Floyd Cox, age 31, local man, who was shot in the abdoman, March 5, during an altercation with E. Harold Akins of Waskom, Texas, died Thursday morning in a Longview, Texas, sanitarium, after a blood transfusion had proven unsuccessful.

Doctors agreed from the first that he had small chance for recovery from the wound in his abdomen. He died at 8 o'clock Thursday morning. Funeral services were held Friday evening at the Mt. Paren cemetery near Harris. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. V.I. Cox and two brothers.

Trouble between Akins and Cox began over two girls. Akins has been released to Sheriff John Sanders of Harrison County, Texas, under $3,000 bond in the case. It was stated that indictment would be sought against Akins for murder.
