Benton - Paul W. Cannon of Jefferson City, died Tuesday at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. He was 69 years old.
He was born Mar. 12, 1918, at Benton, the son of Clarence and Lula Wolsey Cannon.
He married the former Annabelle Marshall on Sept. 26, 1943 at Benton. She survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Paul and Dan Cannon; four sisters, Neva Stone, Julia Nations, Marjorie Williams and Mrs. Paul (Marie) Cope; and three grandchildren.
He had formerly lived in Benton. For 30 years, he worked for McKnight-Keaton Grocery in Sikeston.
In 1971, he moved to Jefferson City where he worked as a general manager of the Hotel Governor until 1982, when he retired.
After retirement, he worked part time for the Milo-Walz Stores and Public Water Supply, Cole County District No. 1, where he was treasure of the board.
He had been on the Jefferson City Traffic Safety Commission for past six years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City, and the Triple L Club of the church.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Benton. Burial will be in the Forest Hills Memorial Garden Cemetery near Morley.
