Joyce Marie James, 55, of Desloge, passed away October 1, 1998, at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington.
She was born May 10, 1943, in Farmington, the daughter of the late Elva L. Sikes and Opal Newkirk Sikes. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Desloge.
She was also preceded in death by one sister.
She is survived by her husband, Verlon C. James of Desloge; children, Steven (Cindy) Hicks of Farmington, Cheryl Hicks (Mrs. Mark) LaChance of Farmington, Susan Hicks Fanning of Farmington, Cindy Hicks (Mrs. Eric) Constance of Ft. Leonard Wood; step children, Dennis Allan (Kathy) James of Jackson and Ruth Ellen James (Mrs. Larry) Holdman of Cape Girardeau; 15 grandchildren; four brothers, Bill (Augusta) Sikes of Leadwood, Donald (Marie) Sikes of St. Charles, Fred (Rose) Sikes of Bonne Terre and Jim (Brenda) Sikes of Oran; one sister, Mary Ann Jordan of Farmington.
Visitation will be held Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Boyer Chapel in Desloge with Revs. Peter Soens and William T. White officiating. Burial will be in Hillview Memorial Gardens.
