According to the 1900 census Frank Elmore (born April 1846 in New York to Irish-born parents), express driver, lived at 614 17th Avenue in Omaha with his wife Mary (born May 1868 in Iowa, married eight years) and son Carl E. (born February 1880 in Iowa). His burial card states he died October 16, 1900, age 45 years, and was buried October 18.

Frank Elmore, one of the oldest hack-drivers in the city, died Monday night of consumption at St. Joseph’s hospital, where he had been for several weeks. Elmore was 49 years of age, and had been constantly on the street for over fifteen years until his health failed about a year ago. The funeral will take place at 1 o’clock this afternoon from Heafey’s undertaking rooms. Interment at Holy Sepulcher.
