Carl Eugene Johnson, 30, Pleasant Hill Road, Burnt Cabins, died at 9:30 p.m., Friday, March 5, 2010, at his home.
Born December 14, 1979, at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Lexington Park, Md., he was the son of Carl L. Johnson and Denise L. (Regi) Johnson.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Carl and Helen (Strait) Johnson, Burnt Cabins, and his mother and stepfather, Denise and Robert Stains, Three Springs; and a daughter, Kaylee Spenatti, Shirleysburg; maternal grandfather Merrill Regi, Fort Littleton; paternal step-grandfather Raymond Hobble Jr., Mount Union; a paternal stepgrandmother, Margaret Hocker, Mt. Union, and a maternal stepgrandmother, Shirley (Stains) Morgan, and husband Ed, McVeytown, Pa., along with numerous aunts and uncles; a sister, Nicole Kotmair, Three Springs, along with two nieces: Katey Kotmair and Kelly Kotmair and a nephew, Jared Mills, all of Three Springs; a stepbrother, Howard Strait of Shade Gap, and a stepsister, Miranda Strait, Burnt Cabins.

He was of the Protestant faith and was a 1998 graduate of Southern Huntingdon County High School.

Serving four years as a machinist in the U. S. Marines, he served his country in Iraq. He was also stationed in Japan and Newburg, N.Y. He also served four years in the IRR (Individual Ready Reserve).

After his wartime service, he continued his work as a machinist at Fulton Precision Inc., Mc- Connellsburg, and was last employed at T. B. Woods, Chambersburg.

An avid outdoorsman, he liked hunting and especially enjoyed taking his daughter and nephew fishing.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. Pastor Darren McClintock officiated. Interment was made in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap. Full military honors were provided at the cemetery.
