Patrick A. Begley of Eighteenth and Bancroft streets, whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Begley, were the first white settlers on the site of South Omaha, died yesterday afternoon of consumption, at the age of 34 years, after passing a long time in Colorado. Mr. Begley was a quiet and popular young man, devoted to his family and large circle of friends, and will be mourned long and most sincerely. He leaves a wife, who was Miss O'Fallon of Nebraska City, and two children. His parents and one sister, Miss Jane Begley, live at Papillion. He was a brother also of Daniel Begley, county commissioner of Sarpy County; John Begley, a farmer of Sarpy county; Mrs. John Flynn of South Omaha, Mr. [Mrs.] John Sheahan of Omaha and Mrs. William Tracy of Seattle, Wash. His funeral will be held Thursday morning at St. Patrick's church at 8:30, with interment at St. Mary's, South Omaha.

The funeral of Patrick J. Begley took place yesterday at 9 a. m. at St. Patrick's church, Fifteenth and Castellar, burial being in St. Mary's South Omaha. Rev. P. F. McCarthy preached the sermon and said mass. The pall bearers, selected by Mr. Begley before his death, were Frank Durr, Herman Drexel, Ed J. Dee, Ed McAvoy, John McCann, W. P. McDavitt.
