The Turner Ashby High School Community is now mourning the loss of a second student from that car accident Tuesday on Coopers Mountain Rd near Rawley Springs. State police confirm that 17 year old Cyndal Ward died at 9:25pm Wednesday at UVA Medical center of injuries sustained in that wreck. Her passenger, 16-year-old TA student Jackson Reel, died at the scene from the crash into a tree.

The two had just started dating. Ward had just moved into the TA school district this year. Turner Ashby Principal Steven Walk says that memorial services for Ward will take place Sunday and Reel's will be on Saturday morning.

Cyndal was always smiling, she loved to sing and play her guitar, she had the most beautiful voice. Grease was her all time favorite movie.

She was a special young woman with a voice of an angel and the looks of one as well. She saved three peoples' lives by donating her liver, heart and a kidney, simply an angel.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

WARD, Cyndal Lynn. It is with much sadness that we mourn the loss of our beautiful daughter, who passed away from a tragic car accident on October 31, 2012. Cyndal was born October 12, 1995 and is survived by her loving parents, Chuck and Michele Ward of Barhamsville, Va. and mother, Corina Johnson of Dayton, Va. Cyndal leaves behind her precious sisters, Sara, Kaitlyn and Emily Ward; who loved her so much as well as a loving brother, Thomas Murdock. Also to mourn her loss are her grandparents, Rick and Sara King of Grafton; Carson and Rose Gaskins of Newport News; Charles and Brenda Ward and Sandy and Gordon Harvey. Cyndal also leaves behind her great-grandfather, T. C. Merrill of Barhamsville; and great-grandmother, Winnie King of East Brady, Pa. She also leaves to mourn many aunts, uncles, cousins and too numerous friends to mention. Cyndal never met a stranger and gave the gift of life by being an organ donor. A memorial service for Cyndal will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 4 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church, 4001 New Kent Highway, Quinton, Va. 23141. Cyndal was very gifted in her musical aspirations and her love of drama. In her memory, contributions may be given to the New Kent Educational Foundation, P. O. Box 110, New Kent, Va. 23124 with Cyndal Ward's name in the memo line. Arrangements by Hogg Funeral Home and Crematory, Gloucester Point, Va.
