Edith Hawkins

ECRU - Edith Hawkins, 93, died Friday, July 22, 2011, at her home. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, and she was retired from the Hi Lo Store. She enjoyed her garden, spending time with her family and her cat, "Frankie."

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Browning Funeral home in Pontotoc with the Rev. Jimmy Russell and the Rev. Matt Russell officiating. Burial will be in Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Judy Hawkins; a son-in-law, Darrell Berryhill; six grandchildren, Ron Berryhill (Stephanie), Jeff Berryhill (Tammy), Michelle Swords (Jason), Melinda Smith, Viva Dillard (Dean) and Jessie (Judy) Hawkins; 14 great-grandchildren, Dustin (Amy) Berryhill, Shawn Berryhill, Celeste Berryhill, Noah Berryhill, Anabelle Berryhill, Donavan Swords, Cole Swords, Skylar Swords, Jorden Smith, Kym Smith, Dalton Smith, Kylee Hawkins, Channa Hawkins and Taegan Hawkins; and a great-great-granddaughter, Lillian Berryhill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Susie Jane McDivitt Hadaway and George Sidney Hadaway; her husband, William Allen Hawkins; her daughter, Margie Ann Berryhill; and a son, Mack Allen Hawkins.

Pallbearers will be Bruce McCoy, Billy Walker, Ricky Walker, Tate Thrasher, William Anderson and Nathan Swords.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Don Wages and Terry Caples.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
