Ivan G. Hoover, 63, of Ephrata, entered into rest on Monday, August 13, 2012, at his home after a six-month battle with cancer.
Born in West Earl Township to the late Ivan and Susie R. (Groff) Hoover, he was the husband of Lucy (Burkholder) Hoover to whom he was married for 40 years in December.
He was a member of Conestoga Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference. Ivan was a farmer his whole life.
In addition to his wife, Ivan is survived by his children: Jason, husband of Marian (Weaver) Hoover of Kutztown, Rachel, wife of Kenneth Martin of Ionia, IA, John David, husband of Rachel (Weaver) Hoover of Fleetwood, Elmer, husband of Verna (Shirk) Hoover of Alta Vista, IA, Elsie, wife of Harold Weaver of Fleetwood, Clayton Hoover, J. Ivan Hoover, Wilma Hoover, Ruth Hoover, Roy Hoover, Lois Hoover, all at home; 4 brothers: Harvey, husband of Mary (Martin) Hoover of Shippensburg, John, husband of Anna (Leid) Hoover of Ephrata, Noah Hoover of Ephrata, Ammon Hoover of Ephrata; 2 sisters: Edna Hoover of Ephrata, Mabel, wife of John Burkholder of Leola; and 32 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elam Hoover.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 17, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the late residence, 121 N. Farmersville Road, Ephrata. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday from the late residence, with further services at 12:30 p.m. from the Conestoga Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference, with Bishop Ammon Weaver officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery
