Another son was Russel Elwood Bynum and Shirleys twin brother Sherman. He drowned in a mine pond I belive at 8 years old.

NORVEL BYNUM, 70, DIES AT HOSPITAL - Year 1957

Norvel Bynum, 70 years old, of Crompton Hill, died Friday at 7:45 p. m. at the Vermillion County Hospital. He was taken to the Hospital at about 11 o'clock that morning after suffering a heart attack.
A janitor at the Crompton Hill School for a number of years, Mr. Bynum was born Oct. 18, 1886 at Elnora, Ind. the son of John R. and Mary Elmore Bynum. He had resided in this vicinity for the past 33 years and was a member of the Clinton First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Esther Bynum, three sons. George Bynum of Renaselaer; Elwood Bynum of Indianapolis, and Evan Earl Bynum of Stratford, New Jersey; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Wooten of Decatur, Ill., nine grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers. Ross Bynum of Indianapolis, and George Bynum of Shreveport, La., and two sisters, Mrs. Stella McNeely and Miss Minnie Bynum, both of Indianapolis, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. today at the Frist Funeral Home. Rev Ray Crawl officiating at the services and burial was made in the Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery May 6, 1957.
