!FAMILY HISTORY: Family members, Mrs Helen Cler and my mother Mrs.Elisabeth Hettinger. Cecelia was born the 6th of July 1905 in Nokomis,Montgomery County, Illinois. She joined the religious order, St.Francis of Mary Immaculate which is located at 520 Plainfield Ave,Joliet, Illinois 60435. She entered the Postulancy on September 8,1920. On August 12, 1921 she received her "habit". Then on August 12, 1923 she made her first profession of vows. August 12, 1926 which was three years after her first profession of vows, she took her final vows. She took the name of "Sister M. Aurea". O.S.F. Her preparation for 64 years of active ministry began at DePaul University in Chicago where she earned her undergraduate degree. She received her Master's Degree in Library Science from the University of Illinois. She began her teaching career in 1922 part time at St. Francis Academy at the elementary level. In 1923 to 1925 she taught at St. Mary's in Columbus, Ohio. From 1925 to 1926 she taught at St. Raymond's in Joliet, Illinois; 1926 to 1930 was again in Columbus, Ohio at Immaculate Conception. From 1930 to 1935(January) St. Michael's in Sigel, Illinois. She taught high schools and taught at the College ofSt. Francis Joliet from 1935 to 1969. She was at the St.Francis College (Library) in Joliet,Illinois from 1935 to 1942. From 1942 to1953 was Director of Postulents at St.Francis Convent in Joliet,Illinois. Then in 1953 was again at the College of St. Francis(Library).

She participated in Jubilee Ceremonies at St. Francis Convent in Joliet on June 22, 1973. She was later honored at an Open House at St. Joseph Hall in Pesotum, Illinois in connection with her Jubilee celebration as a Nun.

She remained at the Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home in Joliet until her death, where she died on June 28, 1987. She is buried in Resurrection Cemetery at Romeoville, Illinois.
