Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Thursday, May 31, 1951

Mrs. Mary Schoenheiter, wife of Erhardt Schoenheiter, 315 South Kimball, died last night in a local hospital. She had been in failing health for the last two years and had been critically ill for seven weeks. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Livingston-Sondermann funeral home by the Rev. Martin Schroeder, pastor of Messiah Lutheran church. Burial will be in Grand Island cemetery.

Mrs. Schoenheiter was born at Evansville, Ind., Aug. 23, 1879, to Mr. and Mrs. August Eickhoff. When she was a child, the family moved to St. Louis, Mo., and it was there that she completed her schooling and grew to womanhood. She and Mr. Schoenheiter were married at Columbia, Ill., on Nov. 30, 1912. They began their home in Columbia and resided there until 1915, when they came to Grand Island. Mrs. Schoenheiter was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of St. Paul's English Lutheran church. Her only social affiliation was with the Senior Aid at St. Paul's.

Mrs. Schoenheiter is survived by her husband; one son, Quinton Schoenheiter of Grand Island; two half-brothers, Henry and Albert Liembach, both of Los Angeles, Cal.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Guy Haley and Mrs. Al Klatt, both of Los Angeles; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, her parents and one sister.
