Daniel Williams, son of John Williams and Ann Griffiths, was born 23 Dec 1802 at Penally, Pembrokeshire, Wales. His father passed away in 1807, and Daniel and his three siblings, Thomas, Mary G, and John G,
were raised at Stepaside, Pembrokeshire by his mother. Daniel married Catherine Jenkins in 1825 at Bedwelty, Monmouthshire, and they had two children, John Jenkins Williams (1827-1875) and Mary Ann Williams (1830-1901) before Catherine's death in 1830. Daniel married Jane Phillips in 1833, and she passed away in 1846. Daniel served as a missionary in Wales, 1847-1852, and married widow Mary Scourfield Howells in 1852 at Pembroke. They emigrated to Utah in 1853, and made their home in Tooele City. Daniel's brother John Griffiths Williams was also buried in the Tooele City Cemetery.
