Mark "Amil" Bielarski, 46, of 641 Big Mine Run Road, Ashland, died at the Pottsville Hospital Tuesday after a courageous fight with liver disease.
Mark "Amil" was the beloved son of Amil J. Bielarski, Frackville, and was born in Ashland, Oct. 14, 1960. He was one of three children and the son of the late Mary "Mamie" Bonish Bielarski, who preceded him in death on Feb. 10, 1993.
He had resided in Ashland for all of his life. Mark "Amil" was a volunteer for many causes and enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing throughout most of his life. He also loved home remodeling and helping his family and friends.
Mark "Amil" was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ashland.
Mark "Amil" attended Penn College of Technology. He graduated in 1978 from Ashland Area High School. He played football and baseball and loved the challenge of a new sport. He had a heart of gold and would drop everything to help a friend in need.
He was also an active member of several local organizations.
Mark "Amil" was a member of the United Steel Workers of America and Heavy & Highway Construction Workers of America Local Union No. 158. He was also a past licensed blaster for the Department of Environmental Protection.
Surviving are two sisters, Diane Bielarski Spokus, Lewistown, and Gail Bielarski Krause, Ashland; six nieces and nephews and one grand-niece, William Dillman, Orwigsburg, Bryan Dillman, Harrisburg, Jennifer Spokus Youngblood, Maryland, Kelly Spokus, San Francisco, Calif., David Spokus, Gettysburg, and Emilee Spokus, Lewistown.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Family and friends were invited. Interment followed the Memorial Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Mark Bielarski High School Scholarship Fund in care of 138 Birch Dr., Lewistown, PA 17044.
