Larry E Clark

Jan. 14, 1924 - Oct. 25, 2012

Larry, also known by many as "Big Lar" and affectionately by his grandchildren as "Papa," was unexpectedly welcomed into the arms of The Lord on October 16th. Larry was born and raised in Napa to Martin "Speed" and Leola Clark and attended Pueblo Vista Elementary, Redwood Middle, and Napa High Schools. Larry joined the United States Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. He was also a 40 year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America where he was a member of Local 751. He worked for Lathrop Construction and later Webcor Construction on many large projects including the Con Dam Water Treatment Facility, the Napa Hall of Justice, & Queen of the Valley Hospital before retiring in 2005. Larry loved collecting barbed wire, old bottles and pottery. Anyone that knew him also knew that he loved NASCAR and the 49'ers. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his Uncle Don and continued to share his love for the outdoors with his kids and cherished the time spent with his grandson, Justin, teaching him to hunt and fish as well. Larry enjoyed many years of trapping, hunting, bottle digging, and Friday morning breakfasts at Butter Cream with his good friend, Eddie Goymerac.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Clark and her mother Linda Maier of Texas; daughter, Julie Barnes (Jason) of Napa; son, Patrick Clark (Ashley) along with their mother, Cyndy Clark all of Napa; sister, Vicki Bullock (John) of Napa; niece, Kelly Abernathy (Brandon) of Napa; nephew, Jeremy Bullock (Kelly) of Napa; grandchildren, Justin and Jenna Barnes, Katelyn Clark and Elisa Clark; and great - niece and nephew, Myla and John Bullock. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves behind friend and companion, Kelly Ray of Fairfield and her family.

Larry was an active member of Crossroads Church in Vacaville where he had many friends, volunteered at the Salvation Army as a cook on Thanksgiving and enjoyed helping others. He will be missed dearly but remembered fondly by those that knew and loved him. Services will be held Friday, November 2nd at 1:00pm in the Tulocay Chapel. Memories and words of sympathy may be sent to the family on-line at www.tulocaycemetery.org.
