Laura Mae Holland
MEDINA - Laura Mae Holland, 72, of Medina, and formerly of Champlain, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 1989, at the Medina Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 15, 1916, in Montreal, the daughter of Ernest and Flora Mae (LaFountain)Barrier.
Mrs. Holland was a graduate of Syracuse University. She was a French teacher and had taught in the Medina, Middleport and Champlain school systems. She was married to Kenneth J.Holland, formerly of West Chazy. He died Nov. 25, 1973.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church of Medina, the Catholic Daughters, the Twig Association of Medina Memorial Hospital,the American Red Cross Blood Bank Program, Senior Citizens of Western Orleans, the Busy Buddies of Lyndonville, the Retired Teachers Association and the Syracuse Women's Club.Mrs. Holland had worked as a Republican Party election inspector for 20 years.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mrs. Berkley Margaret)Hebert of Camillus and a cousin,Mildred Weisburger of Champlain.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Church. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements were by Barnes-Tuttle Inc. Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St., Medina,N.Y.
