Death of Mrs. LeQuatte

From further particulars regarding the death of Mrs. J.W. LeQuatte of Big Timber on Oct. 14th, it appears she had been in failing health for some time prior to her decease, but was not supposed to be in any immediate danger. On the 4th day of October she had a stroke of paralysis from which she partially rallied, but three or four days later she had a second and more severe attack, which ended in her death.

Mrs. LeQuatte was born in Fairport, Scott County, Iowa, May 8, 1863, and was married to Mr. LeQuatte in Illinois City, Illinois, Sept. 15, 1885. Shortly after this event the newly married couple took up their home in Bell Plain, Iowa, and resided there until their removal to this state about four years ago when they established themselves in Lewistown.

Two children, Zora and Lawrence, came to bless this union, both of whom are still living. The family resided here until last January, when Mr. LeQuatte entered into a co-partnership with G.H. Preston to conduct a drug store in Big Timber.

Mrs. LeQuatte leaves the following members of the family to mourn her death: Mrs. Elizabeth M. Wylie of Illinois City, Illinois; and six brothers, William C. Tyler and Charles R. Tyler, who reside in the same town as their mother; Dr. Ed K. Tyler, Arch G. Tyler, and a half-brother, Leonard A. Wylie of Muscatine, Iowa; and one sister, Mrs. J. Kennelly of Altamont, Missouri.

The deceased was a very active and energetic church worker and at the time of her death was a member of the Homeland Circle of the Congregational church of Big Timber. She also had charge of a Sunday School class, and in various ways had made her usefulness and influence felt as a woman of exalted Christian character.

The funeral took place in Big Timber from the family residence and was largely attended by friends and relatives of the deceased.
