In the passing of Marion Hardesty, Sunday night Carrollton loses its oldest miller. Until a few years ago he had been identified with the mill industry of the town for nearly __ years. His father, William Hardesty built a mill, part of which is now owned by The Carrollton Milling Company, on the same site, and in later years it was operated by Marion, Kirk and Frank Hardesty. IN 1884 Marion and Kirk built a mill on East Canal Street, when they sold to Joseph Courtright and _ V. Courtright in 1900. Marion Hardesty was born in Brown twp., near Malvern, August 31, 1838. He was married to Mary M. Karns, May 6, 18__, who survives, with the following children, Will, of Carrollton; Marion, of Canton and Mrs. F. W. Kipper, of Canton, and Claire, of Petersburg. Frank Hardesty, Mesdames John Hollar and May Ja___son, of Carrollton, and Charles Hardesty, of Canton, are brothers and sister. The funeral took place Wednesday and interment was made in Grandview. His four sons acted as pallbearers.
