Jane Hager Reuther, 79, of Sandy Springs, GA, and formerly of Huntsville, died Monday in Atlanta, GA. She had been in declining health for some time.
Jane was born in Birmingham to Catharine (Phillips) & Henry J. Hager. She married Calvin R. Reuther on March 7, 1953. He died on January 14, 2000.
Jane moved with her family to Huntsville in 1965. She was a skilled craftsperson who tried every craft before she fell in love with weaving, and became an excellent weaver, spinner, and dyer. She was member of the Huntsville Fiber Guild. After the death of her husband Cal in 2000, Jane moved to the Atlanta area to be near her daughter and son-in-law. Jane was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Huntsville and of Sandy Springs Methodist Church when she moved to Georgia.
Survivors include her daughter Catherine Reuther and son-in-law Bryan Kennedy of Norcross, GA; son Russell Reuther and his wife Linda of White House, TN; grandson Russell Reuther, Jr.; sister Sara & Tom Moxley of Birmingham; brothers Henry & Sandra Hager of Birmingham, & Phillip Hager of Metairie, LA; sister-in-law Connie Holley of Atlanta; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Mark Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
