            Mrs. Margaret Palmer Dies
    Mrs. Margaret Palmer, one of the oldest and most highly esteemed residents of Parsons, died yesterday morning at 11:45 o'clock at her home on George avenue. Mrs. Palmer, who was aged 84, had been ill a short time of general debility.
    Mrs. Palmer was the widow of the late Richard Palmer, a prominent local business man. She was born in Wales and was married to Richard Palmer on August 9, 1854. She had resided in this country only a few months before she was married, but had known Mr. Palmer in Wales. She was before marriage Miss Margaret Watkins, daughter of John and Mary Williams Watkins. For a time She resided at Danville, when her husband was in the mining of iron ore with Peter and Michael Grover. After about seven months; they removed to Minersville, Pa., where Mr, Palmer was associated With the firm of Manuel Bast & Co. The family remained there until 1856, when they removed to Ashland, living there for about a year and then resided at Locustdale for ten years, where Mr. Palmer was a mine foreman. They resided in Shenandoah and Schuylkill for a short time and came to Parsons In 1897, where they have since resided.
    Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Palmer, four of whom survive. They are Mrs. Mary Reed, Miss Sallie, Miss Ida and Mrs. Martha Boyer, the latter of this city. William Palmer, their only son, was with his family, burned to death in the fire in Iroquois theatre, Chicago, December 30, 1903.
    Mrs. Palmer Was a woman of admirable Christian character, She was a member of Parsons M. E. Church. Her kindly nature, made her loved by all, young and old and her charitableness won for her the respect of a legion of friends.
    Funeral services will be held from the late home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Services will be conducted at the residence by Rev. Arthur J. Green of the Methodist Church of Parsons and Rev. Mr. Custard of Old Forge. Interment will be in Forty Fort Cemetery.
