Young Man's Sad Death---A Victim of Fall at No. 2, D. & H.
The accident which resulted in the death of John Symons, Jr., at No. 2 D. and H. colliery yesterday afternoon, is particularly sad. The young man who was in the prime of life became the father of a new born son just 10 days ago. He was 24 years of age and had been employed at the colliery as a bratticeman and was in the act of removing a timber to make way for the brattice when the fall which crushed out his life occurred. His neck was broken and death instantanious. The remains were removed to his home on Nesbitt street, Larksville, from which place the funeral will take place Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Services will be conducted at the home by Rev. F. H. Cornell of the Derr Memorial Church, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be made in Forty Fort cemetery. The deceased was a member of Council, 316, Jr. O. U. A. M., the organization will attend the funeral. Besides the deceased wife and child, his parents Mr. and Mrs. John Symons, Sr., and the following brothers and sisters survive: Albert, Theodore, Peare, Ruth, Esther, Florence, Ada and Gladys.
