Mrs. Harriet Bishop Seeley

Thursday afternoon, Feb. 22, 1906, all that is mortal of Mrs. Harriet Bishop Seeley was laid to rest in the South cemetery of Wellington, O. Her death occurred in Cleveland Tuesday morning, Feb. 20. Mrs. Seeley was born in York, Medina county in April, 1847. She was the daughter of William B. and Melissa Stone. She leaves of her father's family one brother, M.L. Stone of Weymouth, and two sisters, Mrs. S. E. Carrington of Oberlin and Mrs. C.S. Knapp of Palouse, Wash. In 1862 she married George D. Seeley of York. To them were born four sons, Wesley, Joseph, George and Charles, and two daughters, Mary and Hattie, all of whom, with the exception of the elder daughter, Mrs. Mary Clifford, survive the mother.

The early years of her married life were spent in York and Brea. Later the family moved to Wellington, where they lived many years. At the time of her death she had been residing nearly a year in Cleveland.

Mrs. Seeley was ever a woman of noble aims and deep interest in all that makes for righteousness, A number of years ago she allied herself with the Salvation Army and became an active worker in their ranks. She endeared herself to all who knew her by her sweet unselfish life and lovable Chrisian character. During her last illness her husband, her four sons with their wives, her daughter and son-in-law, her sister, Mrs. Carrington, and a number of grandchildren and devoted friends were by her side to minister to her. Her passing away was calm and serene. Her one thought was of the joy and beauty of her new home which she saw opening before her.

The funeral service was held on Thursday morning at her late residence in Cleveland, and was conducted at her request by members of the Salvation Army. It was also her wish that her body be laid at rest in Wellington, her old and much-loved home.

Her family have the sympathy of a wide circle of loving friends, who mourn with them the departure of so storng and helpful a soul.
