MATILDA LAPE, OF STOYSTOWN, DEAD

First Cousin of W. A. G. Lape Dies of Stroke; Funeral Thursday Morning

Miss Matilda Lape, aged 50 years, died of paralysis at 8:30 o'clock this morning at the home of her brother, Albert Lape. She suffered a stroke about 18 weeks ago. Funeral services will be held at the late residence at 10 o'clock Thursday morning, conducted by the Rev. William E. Sunday, pastor of the Hooversville Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Hoffman Cemetery, at Jenner Cross Roads. Undertaker J. H. Blansett has prepared the body for burial. Miss Lape was a daughter of David and Sarah Lape, both deceased. She was born at Jenner Cross Roads. The deceased is survived by one sister, Ida, wife of Ness* A. Lohr, of South Fork, and two brothers, Stewart Lape, of Windber, and Albert Lape, mentioned above. Miss Lape was a member of the Lambertsville Lutheran Church. Miss Matilda Lape was a first cousin of Willis A. G. Lape, of the Eighth Ward, Business Manager of The Tribune.

Tillie was living with the Michael Sipe family in the 1900 Census. In her obituary, she lists her son Davis Stewart Osborne as a brother, Stewart Lape. It is possible he was adopted by his grandparents or took his mother's maiden name.
