COVE CITY - Joselyn May Paul Ipock, 92, passed away Aug. 10, 2012, at her home, 2151 Asbury Road, Cove City, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James A. Ipock and her brother, Donald L. Paul.

Mrs. Ipock was born Oct. 16, 1919 at Fairview Hospital in New Bern, NC. She was the daughter of the late Oel Donald Paul and Irma Beatrice May Paul.

Mrs. Ipock nurtured a lifelong interest in genealogy and history, especially the history of eastern North Carolina. She enjoyed her years working at Tryon Palace where she was a member of the first group of "hostesses" trained to guide visitors through the local landmark.

She is survived by her two daughters, June Bassett and husband, Del; and Jennifer Nance of Cove City; her five grandchildren, Trina Bassett Raley and husband, Paul of Leonardtown, MD, Rebecca Bassett of Raleigh, NC, Audrey Nance Manning and husband, Trent of Charleston, SC, Jordan Paul Nance and wife, Krista of Roanoke, VA, and James A. Nance of Wilmington, NC; her six great grandsons, Andrew and Philip Raley, Zachary and Henry Nance, Trent and Colton Manning as well as her sister-in-law, Julia Carroll Paul of Atlanta, GA.

Her family gratefully expresses their appreciation to Community Home Care and Hospice for the care and support given by their staff members: Belinda Hargett, Sabrina Gaskins, Karen Snyder, and Rev. Jim Marshburn and to their special friend, Mary Ellen Jones, for all of her love and assistance throughout Mrs. Ipock's illness.

A celebration of Mrs. Ipock's life will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1780 Asbury Rd., Cove City on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. The family will visit with friends prior to the service in the church fellowship hall from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
