Otto Holtz Jr., Utica, Former La Sallean, Dies

UTICA -- Otto Holtz Jr., 24, Utica, former La Salle resident, died at 11:10 a.m. Saturday in Vaughan Veteran's hospital in Hines. He had been a patient for several weeks, having been ill for the past year.

Born in Chicago, April 13, 1925, he was married to the former Lauretta Dana, Utica, Nov. 3, 1943 in Monticello, Ark.

She survives along with three children, Mark E., Vernice and Christine, his father Otto Holtz Sr., his mother, Mrs. Cordelia Holtz and a brother, Arthur, all of La Salle.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Holtz was a member of the 483rd M. P. E. G. Co., U.S. army and later was engaged as a carpenter in La Salle.

The body is at the Schleicher funeral home, La Salle, where friends may call tonight, and on Tuesday it will be removed to the Manley and Hulse funeral home, Utica, where friends may call Tuesday afternoon and evening and until time of the service Wednesday.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Utica Baptist church at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Harry Felmley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood cemetery, La Salle.

Mr. Holtz was a member of Pierce-Davis post, American Legion, Utica. Military services will be conducted at the grave.
