J. P. Lund died Monday at his home on Wood street, of Bright's disease, age 63 years. The deceased was a native of Sweden, and married there. After the death of his wife he came to the United States and was again married 10 years ago. He moved here about four years ago, and worked as a shoemaker, though his disease prevented his working for the last two years. He leaves besides his wife, two sons by his first wife, A. Lund, living in Sweden, and Ernest, of Klondike, Crow Wing County.
The funeral was held from the house, Rev. Atwood conducting, and interment was in Oakland.

"FOLKS lots of communicating was done verbally in those days and people just didn't seem to be concerned about spelling until the 1910s or 1920s or so. Add to that the accents and the multiple nationalities involved and it's a mess. Even in the censuses."
