Meningitis Death Reported ~ Burt Reaglin Victim of Spinal Meningitis on Houseboat Opposite Jacksonport

Another outbreak of spinal meningitis, similar to that of last winter, is feared in this county, for one death has been reported from this dread malady. The victim was Burt Reaglin, who lived on a houseboat opposite Jacksonport. Death occurred about 11 o'clock Saturday and the body was brought here Sunday morning and interred that afternoon in Newport Cemetery.

The deceased was sick about five days and the symptoms in his case were unmistakable. He is survived by a wife and two children. Another child on a nearby boat is sick and all those who have been exposed to the diseased have been quarantined. Dr. A.L. Best reported this case of meningitis and called in Dr. Elbert Watson, County Health Officer.
