Prominent Woman, Daughter of Phoenix Iron Works Founder Dies

Mrs. Emily C. Jacobs, of 1915 Spruce street, died at her home early yesterday afternoon, following an illness of eleven weeks.

She was in her eightieth year and was socially prominent in this city. She was the daughter of the late David Reeves, of Salem, N. J., who was the founder of the Phoenix Iron Works, at Phoenixville, Pa. Her husband was a member of the firm of Thomas Jacobs, wine merchants, at Second and Ducks streets.

Two daughters survive her. They are Mrs. Charles J. Henry, of Boston, Mass., and Mrs. Charles Gibbons Davis, of Chestnut Hill."
