Rewis Hinely Freyermuth
(July 7, 1941 - October 31, 2012)

Garden City - Rewis Hinely Freyermuth, 71, died October 31, 2012 after living with Huntington's Disease for many years. He was born at home in Springfield, GA, on July 7, 1941 to Ivin E. and Alice Hinely Freyermuth. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by three brothers, Charles B. Freyermuth, Edwin Freyermuth and the Rev. Robert W. Freyermuth.

He and his family moved to Garden City in 1951. He was baptized and became a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. During his lifetime membership, he served in many capacities including lay reader, Sunday School superintendent and vice-chairman of the congregational council.

He was a member of the first graduating class of Robert W. Groves High School in 1959. He served as president of the senior class, was a member of the ROTC and played varsity basketball. He attended the Georgia Institute of Technology where he studied electrical engineering.

He worked as the outside parts sales manager for Electrical Machinery Co. for 25 years and later purchased a Servicemaster Lawn Care franchise. His declining health necessitated his early retirement. He enjoyed the "quiet" sports of bow hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra Stone Freyermuth; two daughters, Tanya F. Blase and Kristen F. (Chris) Davidson; four grandchildren, Kaylyn Ward, Malory Davidson, Chase Blase and Price Blase; two great-grandsons, Xaiden and Xyler Ward; one brother, B. Elbert (Deloss) Freyermuth, Sr. and two sisters-in-law, Nellie Freyermuth and Margaret Freyermuth along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held during the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with the Reverends Chip Lingle and David Rasmussen officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery in Springfield, GA.

Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 41 Main Street, Garden City, GA 31408 or the Huntington's Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Ave., Suite 902, New York, NY 10018. His brain has been donated to the Harvard Brain Tissue Resource Center to further the search for a cure for Huntington's Disease.
